Do you think it would be possible in an English translation...?

...of the Bible to show the link between "man" (Adam) and "ground" (adamah) without butchering the text? I've thought about "human" and "humus", but that has the added, unwanted effect of neutralizing the gender, and in English, "humus" doesn't specifically mean "ground". I've also thought about transliterating the word "adamah", much as other words are transliterated in Scripture (viz. Amen, Hosanna, Blasphemy, et al), and supplementing that with a footnote. Any qualified people out there who can offer me their thoughts?
