Besides drugs, what else should the government prohibit in order to protect citizens from themsleves?

If this question is sarcastic, which I am uming it is, then you make a very good point. There is no evidence showing that occasional marijuana use is any worse for you than eating junk food all the time is. In fact, it has been shown that alcohol and cigarettes are much worse for you than several currently illegal drugs are. The reason alcohol, cigarettes, and junk food remain legal is because of the huge lobbies they have. That basically shows that the government imposes restrictive laws based more on special interest groups than public safety. I think the government should let people do what they want with their bodies, as long as they aren't harming anybody else. I don't know why so many conservatives who tout "personal responsibility" disagree. People should have the "personal responsibility" of taking care of their own bodies and not relying on the government to do it for them.
