Why does Leo DiCapro make $20 million but Kate Winslet doesn't?

After the success of "Titanic", Leonardo DiCaprio joined the $20 million club, that's how much he now makes per movie. Both he and Kate Winslet had "equal" roles in Titanic, so why was he offered more money yet Kate wasn't? Is this just typical Hollywood ism?
